With user-friendly moka pots, you prepare coffee with a full body and rich aroma. The recognisable hourglass moka pot is the most famous, but there are many other shapes and types, such as the classic moka pot or the modern percolator, where the operating principle always remains the same: the water in the lower part heats up. The steam pressure pushes the water up through the ground coffee at two atmospheres and the coffee is ready. For perfect coffee, the blend should not be too finely ground. The heat should be gentle. Never keep the moka pot on the heat for too long.
PREPARE A PERFECT MOCHA:
1. Fill the lower part with cold water up to the safety valve. Insert the filter.
2. Fill the filter with a mound of ground coffee, but do not press the coffee.
3. Make sure the filter disc and rubber gasket are in the right place. Screw the two parts of the moka pot together tightly.
4. Put the moka pot on the cooker at low heat!
5. Remove the pot from the cooker when the coffee starts to bubble. This ensures that only the noblest parts of the coffee are extracted.
6. Stir the coffee with a spoon before pouring into the cups.
7. Rinse the moka pot with warm water and dry it well before screwing it back on.
