Tired of sodas that all taste the same?? Looking for a sparkling drink that's different, with real flavour, originality, and a transparent ingredient list?? As a product scout for Joybuy, my mission is to guide you through this jungle of new flavours. The goal of this guide is to give you the keys to finding THE original sparkling drink that's right for you, without drowning you in marketing jargon.
Before we get to our selection, here are a few things to check to make sure you make the right choice.
The truth about a lemonade is often hidden on its label. For a true taste experience, look for recipes made with cane sugar or real fruit juices, and steer clear of glucose-fructose syrups. The words "natural flavours" are usually a good sign, much better than their artificial equivalent. If you're looking for a low-sugar lemonade, take a look at the carbohydrate content. The presence of sweeteners like sucralose or stevia can reduce calories while maintaining a sweet taste.
The beverage aisle is undergoing a major transformation, and some lemonades now include so-called "functional" ingredients. This is the case for the prebiotic drink. Simply put, prebiotics are fibres that feed the good bacteria in our gut microbiome. Without getting into medical jargon, choosing a drink fortified with prebiotic fibres (like tapioca dextrin or acacia gum) can be a smart way to combine pleasure with benefits.
The format is the practical detail that changes everything. A 33?cl can or small glass bottle is ideal for a solo treat on the go or for trying a new flavour without a big commitment. On the other hand, the large 1.5?L PET bottle remains the value champion for family meals, picnics, or drinks with friends.
We've found three hidden gems that stand out from the crowd, whether for their recipe, their history, or their format.
Why we chose it?? ELIXIA is quite simply one of the oldest craft lemonade producers in France. This drink is a masterpiece of traditional expertise. With its pure water from the Jura mountains and its cane sugar, it's the very definition of an authentic craft soda. A little surprise: while the label says "Cherry," the taste leans towards cranberry, with a lovely mauve colour derived from natural colourings (anthocyanins). It's an aromatic complexity that makes all the difference.

Why we chose it?? Don Simon's raspberry lemonade ticks two important boxes: family size and a low-sugar profile. It's all in the recipe and the manufacturing process. A craft lemonade relies on simple, high-quality ingredients: real sugar (most often cane sugar), spring water, natural fruit flavours... Production is done on a smaller scale. In contrast, the industrial version often leans towards glucose-fructose syrup, artificial flavours, and preservatives to mass-produce and ensure a long shelf life.
Not always, but it's common. To be labelled "low-sugar" or "low-calorie," manufacturers have two options: reduce the sugar (at the risk of a blander taste) or replace it, in whole or in part, with sweeteners. The latter, like stevia (natural origin) or sucralose (synthetic), provide an intense sweet taste for zero calories. The Don Simon lemonade in our selection, for example, combines both sugar and sucralose.
Once opened, a bottle will inevitably lose its fizz. The number one rule to save the bubbles and freshness is to seal the bottle tightly and place it in the refrigerator immediately. It's best to consume it within 3 to 4 days, especially if it's a large bottle.
