1. How do you cook frozen beef meatballs? For cooking in broth (soup, hot pot), there's no need to thaw them first. Drop them directly into the boiling liquid and follow the time indicated on the package. For pan-frying or grilling, slow thawing in the refrigerator is recommended. This ensures more even cooking and prevents the outside from charring while the inside is still cold.
2. What is the difference between k?fte and a classic meatball? The term k?fte (or kefta) refers to a large family of minced meat preparations typical of Turkish, Middle Eastern, and Balkan cuisines. Unlike a classic meatball, which is often spherical and simply seasoned with salt and pepper, k?fte is much more fragrant (cumin, parsley, garlic, onion...) and its shape, often elongated or flattened, is designed for grilling.
3. How long can you store frozen beef meatballs? In their unopened package, they can be kept in the freezer (-18?°C) until the expiration date on the packaging. Once thawed, consume them within 24 hours and, the golden rule, never refreeze them.
