Frequently asked questions
Will a large bowl always save you from making multiple batches?
No. Check the usable capacity for the preparation you have in mind. Moulinex lists 3 L of usable capacity for the Companion model referenced, while Magimix gives the Cook Expert XL’s total volume as 4.8 L and its usable capacity as 3.8 L. Compare these figures with the quantities in your recipes and the limits in the instruction manual.
Does a cleaning cycle mean you don’t need to wash the parts after making several recipes?
No. A cleaning cycle doesn’t necessarily mean that every part is washed automatically. Moulinex says that some Companion parts, including the drive shaft and locking ring, are not dishwasher-safe. Check the instruction manual for the exact model.
What should you check before leaving large batches of cooked food to cool?
Anses recommends putting food in the fridge within two hours and keeping the coldest part of the fridge between 0 and +4 °C. This advice is about managing meals after cooking, not the features of an appliance.
What warranty applies in France if an appliance bought from a trader is faulty or not as described?
The legal guarantee of conformity applies to new, second-hand and refurbished goods sold by a trader to a consumer. The French Ministry of the Economy explains that you claim under it from the seller, and that it is separate from any optional commercial warranty.
Are the same spare parts available for several years for every food processor sold in France?
No. You shouldn’t assume that availability is the same for every product. The DGCCRF states that the legal requirement to make spare parts available applies only to certain categories of goods. Check the information for the model and part you’re interested in.
