A bouquet of fresh flowers can brighten any room. But without the perfect vase to showcase it, even the most beautiful arrangement can lose its lustre. Similarly, a single sculptural vase can transform an empty shelf or a forgotten corner of your living room. Far more than a simple container, a decorative vase is a true statement piece?: it defines your style and completes your decor.
But with an overwhelming variety of shapes, materials, and styles, finding the perfect one can be a real challenge. Our mission?? To guide you with clear, practical advice to find the vase that will perfectly match your space and your tastes. Follow our guide to discover the essential criteria and browse our selection to inspire your next purchase.
Before you start, let's review a few key points to help you make the right choice. A thoughtful purchase guarantees a vase that is as beautiful as it is functional.
A vase's material sets the tone and largely determines the atmosphere it creates.
Proportion is key in interior design. A vase should be in proportion to its location, as well as to the flowers it will hold.
The vase should harmonise with your furniture and other decorative objects. For a minimalist interior, a white, black, or grey modern vase with geometric lines is a perfect choice. If your living room decor is more eclectic, feel free to mix styles, for example, by pairing a vintage vase with contemporary elements to create a bold and personal contrast.
To put theory into practice, here are three of our favourite models that perfectly illustrate different styles and uses.

1. How do I clean a decorative vase, especially ceramic or glass?? For most glass and glazed ceramic vases, hand washing with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid or mild soap is sufficient. Use a soft bottle brush to reach the bottom if necessary. For unglazed or matte-finish ceramics, it's best to use a simple damp cloth to avoid staining or damaging the material. Always avoid abrasive sponges.
2. What size vase should I choose for a bouquet of flowers?? The rule of thumb?? Choose a vase that is about half to two-thirds the total height of the flowers (including stems). The opening should be proportional to the density of the bouquet: a wide opening for a full bouquet, and a narrow one for just a few stems.
3. Can a decorative vase be used purely as a decorative object, without flowers?? Of course?! Many vases, especially those with a sculptural design or textured material, are intended as true decorative objects. A beautiful vase can adorn a shelf or console even when empty.
