Collectable blind box figures rely on mysterious packaging, designs inspired by anime or geek culture, and the possibility of finding a rare variant. However, a mystery figure box is not for everyone. Before placing your order, make sure you are comfortable with the element of chance, check the dimensions and read the safety instructions carefully.
A random surprise figure does not reveal its model before opening. An order for a single item could therefore contain a standard figure or, depending on the series, a special variant known as a ‘chaser’. Buying several boxes does not guarantee that you will receive different models either.
If you are looking for a specific character, it is better to choose a figure sold individually or a range with an identified model. Blind boxes are mainly aimed at people who enjoy the unboxing experience and building a collection over time.
The labels limited series and ‘special edition’ are naturally eye-catching, but they do not guarantee an increase in value or long-term availability. The resale price depends on factors including the condition of the box, demand, the licence and whether it contains a particularly sought-after model.
To avoid impulse purchases, set a budget before ordering. A trendy figure can be enjoyable to display without becoming a profitable investment.
Photos can give a misleading impression of an item’s size. A 5 cm kawaii mini figure will not take up the same amount of space as a 14 or 15 cm model. Check the warnings too: some products contain small parts or small beads and are not suitable for children under 3 years old.
If you are buying a gift for a teenager, also check the restrictions listed on the product page. Some blind boxes are recommended for ages 8 and over and may require the consent of a legal representative when purchased for a minor.
PVC generally makes it possible to create compact, colourful shapes that are perfect for decorating a desk or display cabinet. A finish combining PVC and plush provides a more distinctive texture, but requires extra care to protect it from dust, moisture and friction.
The term ‘plush’ does not necessarily mean that the item is designed as a toy for children. Always refer to the recommended age and the manufacturer’s warnings.
If you plan to install a figure in a car, avoid locations that reduce visibility or obstruct access to the controls. A decorative item must remain securely positioned.
Product pages may state a composition such as ‘15 standard models + 2 chasers’ or ‘6 models + 1 chaser’. This describes the variety offered within the collection, but does not guarantee the contents of each order.
Also check whether the item is sold individually or as a set. The term ‘single item delivery’ means that one random figure will be dispatched, not that you will receive the complete series.
Why this choice suits this profile : At approximately 5 cm, this figure is ideal for starting a collection, giving as a small birthday present or adding subtle decoration to a desk.
The product page clearly states that this is a single item, with the interior style selected at random. This helps keep expectations about the contents realistic.
PVC, approximately 5 cm, with 15 standard models and 2 advertised chasers.
Why this choice suits this profile : Its dark, graphic aesthetic will appeal to collectors looking for a strong visual identity for their display cabinet or desk.
The series name and theme are known before purchase. You can therefore choose an aesthetic you like, rather than relying solely on the surprise element.
Gothic-themed series, figure designed for display, with one random model delivered per order.
Why this choice suits this profile : At around 10 cm, with a PVC and plush finish, this model stands out more on a shelf, cabinet or workspace.
The stated dimensions let you check the available space before buying and avoid choosing a figure that is too small for its intended use.
PVC and plush, approximately 10 cm, with 12 standard models and 1 advertised chaser.
Why this choice suits this profile : If you want to give a Deadpool fan a gift without the uncertainty of a blind box, this decorative money box combines a recognisable character with a practical function.
The character is specified on the product page, so the contents are not random. The money-box function also gives the item everyday usefulness.
Marvel licence specified, made from PVC, decorative item with a money-box function.

Not necessarily. Small parts may present a choking hazard, and several products are not suitable for children under 3 years old. Follow the recommended age on the product page and keep the components out of reach of young children. For a minor, also check any information about parental consent.
A random box does not let you choose the model. To reduce the risk of duplicates, some collectors trade their figures, buy identified models individually or choose series whose composition is described in detail. However, remember to check the terms of sale before ordering.
Its lifespan depends in particular on exposure to light, heat and moisture, as well as how often it is handled. To preserve a PVC or plush figure, dust it gently, avoid direct sunlight and place it on a stable surface. Kept in its box and handled occasionally, it will generally retain its appearance better than an item placed near a window or in a car exposed to heat.
