There’s nothing like a well-organised bathroom to start the day off right. Yet, between overflowing bottles, stray towels, and a general lack of space, keeping things tidy can quickly become a real headache. The market is flooded with storage solutions, but they are far from equal. The wrong choice can quickly lead to rusty accessories, suction cups that fall in the middle of the night, or a cabinet that’s incompatible with your plumbing.
My mission at Joybuy? To guide you through this jungle of options so you can make the right choice. Let's review the mistakes to avoid and the essential criteria for choosing bathroom storage that is practical, durable, and perfectly suited to your space.
In the excitement of a redesign, it's easy to overlook a few crucial technical details. Here are the three most common mistakes that turn a great idea into a regret.
To avoid these disappointments, a few checkpoints are essential. This is your guarantee of a smart, durable, and truly functional purchase.
The mounting system will depend on your wall type and whether you are a renter or homeowner.
Resistance to water and humidity is non-negotiable.
Every bathroom has its constraints, and every household has its needs. Here are a few targeted solutions that meet the criteria we've just discussed.
Why we chose it: The perfect solution for those who can't (or don't want to) drill. It frees up the sink ledge and keeps toothbrushes dry, all without commitment since it's removable.
It sidesteps the low-quality suction cup trap with a patented system that ensures a powerful grip (up to 5 kg advertised) on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
Installs in seconds, no tools required. Infinitely repositionable and features a draining design for impeccable hygiene.
Why we chose it: For those who refuse to choose between style and function. This shelf elegantly utilises vertical space and adds a warm touch, a far cry from all-plastic options.
It avoids the fragile material pitfall by using bamboo, which is naturally at home in humid environments. Its small footprint (33 x 33 cm) allows it to fit anywhere, avoiding the mistake of poorly measured dimensions.
Maximum storage with a minimal footprint. Open shelves provide direct access to your products.
Why we chose it: When products pile up, nothing beats closed storage for restoring a sense of calm. This tall, slim cabinet offers ample capacity to hide toiletries, towels, and spare toilet paper rolls.
Its narrow format (30 x 30 cm) is designed for small spaces, sidestepping the clutter trap. Made from MDF, it comes with an anti-tip kit—a critical detail in a home with young children.
The combination of open and closed storage (drawers, cupboards) helps organise everything. The adjustable shelves adapt to your needs.

Several solutions are available. The most common are high-performance suction cups, which attach to smooth surfaces like tile or glass, and water-resistant adhesive strips. In both cases, the key is to thoroughly clean and dry the surface before application. You can also opt for freestanding furniture (tall cabinets, trolleys) or organisers that hang over the door or shower screen.
It all comes down to quality. A budget model might only last a few months. In contrast, a high-quality system, often made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) and featuring a locking mechanism, can last for several years. Our tip for extending its life: detach it every 6 to 12 months to clean the suction cup and the wall before reattaching it.
To prevent mould, you need materials that are not afraid of humidity. Bamboo, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics (ABS, polyresin) are excellent choices. If you opt for a composite wood cabinet, make sure it is water-resistant MDF. Don't forget that the best weapon against mould is still good ventilation in the room.
