Buyer's Guide: Key Points for Your Next Anime Pop! Figure

Before you take the plunge, a few points deserve your attention to ensure your anime collectible figure meets your expectations, whether you're a seasoned collector or looking for the perfect gift for a manga fan.

1. Spotting Fakes: The Art of Recognising an Authentic Pop!

Be careful, as the market is unfortunately flooded with fakes. An authentic Funko Pop! manga figure can be identified by several tell-tale signs:

• The box: The packaging should be high-quality, with vibrant colours and crisp printing. The Funko and franchise logos (e.g., Toei Animation, Shueisha) must be perfectly legible and free of spelling errors.
• The serial number: Every Pop! has a unique serial number, often printed on the box and under the figure's foot or head. Be sure to check that they match.
• Vinyl quality: Official figures are distinguished by their high-quality vinyl, a neat finish, and precise colours that are faithful to the original character.

2. Box Condition: A Crucial Detail for Collectors

For many enthusiasts, the box is as sacred as the figure itself. Packaging in mint condition, without the slightest crease or scratch, preserves and increases the value of your vinyl Pop! collection. If you see your figures as an investment or aim for a flawless collection, opt for sellers who take great care in protecting packages during shipping.

3. Which Series Should You Collect?

Pop! figures cover an impressive number of Japanese animation universes. To start or expand a collection, it's often easiest to focus on franchises you're passionate about. Series like Naruto Pop!, Dragon Ball Z Pop!, or the Jujutsu Kaisen Pop! phenomenon offer a huge variety of characters, perfect for recreating iconic scenes or assembling legendary teams.
